Car insurance cost estimate calculator

Get a rough monthly estimate from your state's average and a few details. No personal data is collected or sent anywhere: everything runs in your browser.

Your estimate will appear here after you select a state and choose "Calculate my estimate".

Credit and binding prices: some states, including California, Hawaii and Massachusetts, restrict or ban the use of credit in car insurance pricing, so the credit input may not reflect how insurers price there. Only an insurer can give a binding quote.

How this estimate works

We start with the Insurify average for your state and coverage type, then multiply it by one factor each for age, driving record, credit, vehicle and mileage. The monthly range is 18% either side of that result, and the yearly range is the monthly range times 12.

The factors are simplified illustrations that we chose to show the general direction and rough size of common pricing effects. They are not any insurer's filed rates, and real insurers use many more inputs and weigh them differently. For example, Texas, full coverage, age 20-24, one at-fault accident and fair credit gives $204 x 1.45 x 1.42 x 1.2, or about $504 a month.
